Ant-man Finally Casted?

It looks like Nathan Fillion might be playing a superhero afterall. After being considered for roles in Green Lantern, and Captain America, Fillion (most remembered as Malcolm Reynolds in the cult-hit Firefly) is reportedly in final negotiations to play Dr. Hank Pym in the new Avengers film. It hasn't been stated whether Pym would be Ant-man in the film, or just a S.H.I.E.L.D. scientist, but we're holding out hope.

The Avengers hits theatres in 2012.

Random casting, but I'm cool with this. Looking forward to seeing it.....

Absolutely love this. And it makes sense too since Whedon is doing Avengers...Can't wait!

Nathan Fillon is all kinds of made of awesome. I wonder, though, if we'll see any of Pym's consistent "butt monkey" characterisation (really, he's the Avenger who famously hit his wife... and it's only really got worse from there - he's the basically the most pathetic of the Avengers, including the ones who used to be terrorists or supervillains). I don't imagine it'll come up, because Nathan-Fillon-as-effectively-mad-scientist-who-likes-to-shrink-things-and-talks-to-ants practically writes itself, particularly in a big team-up superhero movie (what with there only being so much time).

I like Fillion as a mad scientist (not so much spousal abuser) the pissing contest between himself and Downey Jr. as the better scientist would be fun.

Ant-Man is lame. The most interesting thing he's ever done is beat his wife.
