Marc Webb Tweets Electro Pre-Blueface

Marc Webb tweeted the first official look at Jamie Foxx in Amazing Spider-man 2 today. Some folks complained about the Avatar look of the other pictures, but it beats the comb-over seen here.
Judging from the background, it looks like Foxx's character has an obsession for the friendly neighborhood web-slinger. A dangerous obsession.

New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit

Courtesy of Coming Soon, comes the newest look at Marc Webb's Spidey suit for the sequel to The Amazing Spider-man. The last suit worn drew some criticism for looking odd, but this look returns to the more familiar comic book styling that most fans are used to. Maybe this redesign will buy more goodwill from those apathetic about the 2012 reboot.

Review: Along Came A 'Spider-man' Reboot

It has hardly been ten years since Spider-man made its onscreen debut. A journeyman director known for horror took a well-known comic book and turned it into one of the largest global franchises in movie history. Two years after that, Spider-man 2 overtook its predecessor, raking in over $700 million worldwide in the process. It seemed that there was no limit to the heights Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi could reach. That is until Spider-man 3.

While the third installation of the Spider-man franchise made the most amount of money, it also left most moviegoers discontent with what they had received. Too many villains, too much mascara-clad Peter Parker, too much everything. Raimi, Maguire and company had lost their way. The phoenix burned itself into ashes.

Enter a new Peter Parker for a new generation. He is an outcast, he is angsty, he is English. Andrew Garfield endured a great deal of vitriol when he was announced as the new face of Marvel's most famous web-slinger. What Garfield…

Spider-man Reboot Will Further Push Off the Inevitable

It appears that Marc Webb's reboot of Spider-man will take a little longer than expected to set up Peter Parker's backstory—like 2 to 3 films. In an interview with MTV Webb commented:

“I wanted to give the audience something new, so that started off with getting underneath the parents’ story, which will unfold over probably a few movies,” Webb told MTV News during a recent interview. “We don’t totally wrap up that story in this first movie. It’s sort of an ongoing mystery. That was something that was interesting to me.”
Looks like we'll be wearing the rose-colored 3D shades a little bit longer.

Impressive. Sony could have taken the status-quo marketing approach to the film, but they didn't. Good on them.

Lizard Concept Art for 'Amazing Spider-man'

Today reveals yet another look at the Lizard (Rhys Ifans) from Marc Webb's upcoming Amazing Spider-man. Many didn't anticipate the antagonist to look so human, but given that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has to empathize with him it would make more sense for a less monstrous appearance.

New Webslinger, New Suit

Director Marc Webb has been out and about recently sharing his thoughts about webshooters and the films' new suit:

We paid attention to the question of 'How would a kid make it?" And obviously we took some license with it. We also wanted a design that would make the body longer and more lithe, more of an acrobat, someone incredibly agile, and the legs of the spider [symbol on the chest] were something we used to emphasize that. We made a bunch of different suits for different lighting conditions. I wanted something that worked in the night a little better.

'The Amazing Spider-man' Trailer

Well, some trailer has finally figured out how to tease its 3-D aspects effectively. That said, this might be a hard-sell for those who don't think a reboot is necessary.
